The Majorettes Lady Dance club organized the departmental festival of majorettes on Sunday 7 May. This year the club was “playing at home” and that hadn’t happened since 2017.
This event allowed all the clubs of the Allier department to meet for one day to share their passion: the stick. It is therefore with pleasure that the Montmarault club welcomed to the gymnasium, where the Lady Dance training usually takes place, the clubs of Deux-Chaises, Buxières-les-Mines, Bellenaves, Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule, the Mayet-de-Montagne and Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux.
Sticks, pompoms and other accessories
Throughout the day, the majorettes performed demonstrations with sticks, pompoms and other accessories, all to music, to the delight of the many spectators. This festival is also an opportunity to discover this activity which is ultimately quite unknown but which attracts more and more people.
The Montmarault club welcomes this year about thirty members from 4 years old to adulthood! The Lady Dances train once a week throughout the year to work and develop their dexterity in stick, rhythm and dance. The costumes are also always very popular and are renewed according to the themes.
It is the club of Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux which was drawn to organize the next departmental festival which will be held in 2024. After the rewards given to each majorette present (210 were gathered at the festival this year), the instructors and presidents were also honoured.
This event would not have been possible without the commitment of volunteers and families of majorettes. The president of Lady Dance Laetitia Laurent Chevallier wanted to thank them as well as sponsors and partners.
The Lady Dance organize their gala show on Saturday June 10, at the Claude Capdevielle room in Montmarault.
