Eat well
Food trades are at the heart of the Halles de la Cartoucherie project. With some inspiration from Lisbon Mercado Da Ribeirathe Gourmet Hall with 500 indoor and 250 outdoor spaces, centerpiece of the whole, will accommodate a wide culinary variety. A “food court” (food court) consisting of 11 restaurants street-food Occitans. On the program: Vietnamese, Lebanese, West African cuisine, Occitan specialties or pancakes and waffles will be on the menu. A market will also be set up in this Gourmet Hall. Charcuterie, cheese, poultry, Italian grocery store and even a sandwich shop, will complete the gastronomic offer. To eat well, you also have to quench your thirst, and for that, four bars will take over the space, including one specializing in cocktails.
to spend
The particularity of this third place, unique in its kind, is the richness of the leisure offer. Thus, it will not be just a restaurant area since many sports activities will be accessible there. The National Union of Outdoor Sports Centers (UCPA) is even involved in this project, with a space of 800 square meters, consisting of a fitness class room, a cardio platform and above all four squash courts, with a view of the main alley of Les Halles. A large 2,000 square meter climbing room will allow beginners and experienced climbers alike to come and practice climbing. This same room, called “The Roof Toulouse” will house spaces for the free practice of climbing but also courses and courses in other disciplines such as yoga and circus, also accessible to very young children. A Breakdance school will also have a space to provide year-round lessons for 5 to 99-year-olds.
Cultivate
The Halles de la Cartoucherie, wanting to be a complete living space, will also offer cultural activities. A performance hall, which will open its doors in February 2024, will host concerts, theatre, circus and shows at the “varied and inclusive programming” according to Lemon Blue, production company who will ensure the cultural management halls. A movie theater is also under consideration while a library is indeed planned for the opening. Entitled “L’Autre Rive”, it will offer approximately 10,000 references of various works over the 120 square meters allocated to it.
But still…
A 1,300 square meter coworking space composed of 166 workstations will be created, for occasional teleworkers or companies wishing to set up in Les Halles. A concierge service as well as a socio-professional integration association for women, “Les Munitionnettes”, will also take over the premises, while ephemeral commercial stands including tattoo artists, thrift stores, florists and even a barber will take turns.
