BMX: Fise Experience Series – BMX, Roller and Scooter on the program for the Reims stage!

Less than 3 weeks after the flagship FISE Montpellier stage, national and international riders meet from June 9 to 11 to experience a new highlight of the national sports calendar: the FISE Xperience Series in Reims, historic destination of this French sports tour. urban.

After Tignes last March, Reims, Terre de Jeux 2024, is hosting the second stage of the FISE Xperience Series season on the Freestyle Park specially set up in the heart of the city, on the Porte de Mars esplanade. In BMX, Roller and Freestyle Scooter, many international riders will meet from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 June to vibrate with the Rémoises, the Rémois and spectators from far beyond, around their best performances!

Open to all male and female categories, the competitions ensure to bring together riders of the highest world and national level and the talents of the local urban scene. The BMX Freestyle Park competitions, which will count for the French Cup FFC (French Cycling Federation) and C1 of the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) classification, will be followed by the Roller Freestyle Park and Scooter Freestyle Park competitions. Also on the program for this stage, shred contests, playful challenges allowing participants of all categories to challenge themselves and initiations to parkour or the art of movement.

REIMS URBAN NATURE

This FISE Xperience Series stage in Reims will also be the opportunity to properly launch Reims Urban Nature, an outdoor festival which takes place from June 9 to 21 with more than 120 sports, cultural and leisure activities offered to the inhabitants of Reims and the Greater Reims.

Building on its success, the Reims Urban Nature is back for its 3rd edition. To date, more than 448 meetings have already been scheduled thanks to the 85 actors involved (associations, commercial companies, neighborhood houses, community management). Many activities already on the program last year – and very popular – have been renewed, such as nautical activities, chess, archery, firefighters’ courses or fitness activities. Others are emerging, such as Argentine tango, climbing and Tai-chi in the parks.

OLYMPIC HORIZONS

Thriving for many years in alternative cultures, BMX Freestyle Park made its first appearance to the general public during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Accompanied by unprecedented media exposure, this discipline is attracting more interest from benchmark national sports institutions and bodies. With the impetus of Paris 2024, a whole ecosystem is now being structured around the development of urban disciplines in France and around the world.

If winning the Coupe de France FFC stage and at the same time the title of FISE Xperience Reims winner are major objectives, they are reinforced by the opportunity to collect UCI points. These are essential to the qualification process because they allow riders to be positioned in the world rankings for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

These challenges bring together the greatest French and international athletes each year. The public can already count on the presence of 5 athletes from the French BMX Freestyle Park team: Anthony Jeanjean, Istvan Caillet, Luca Bertrand, Kenza Chaal and Laury Perez.
