More than 42 ha entirely reserved for horse care and welfare in the park of Maisons-Laffitte (Yvelines). This is the huge project developed by Frédéric Hinderzé.

To do this, this entrepreneur, passionate about racehorses and also competition rider, launched his company after leaving, two years ago, former positions in a construction company.

The horse, a top athlete

Named International Center for equine rehabilitation (Cire), this establishment aims to make the horse a real top-level athlete. “For more than 20 years, I had this project in mind that I absolutely did not think I could achieve at Maisons-Laffitte or even around Paris », Says the 55-year-old Mansonnien who also owns a racing horse stable and a breeding farm.

I saw that there was no recovery center at the end of the season for the horses, nor for their convalescence after an injury. I wanted there to be, as for humans, a center for high-level sport horses.

Equipment

This center will consist of several facilities. The main element is the medical centre, with a veterinary clinic. Health professionals will be able to carry out diagnoses but also perform surgeries on horses. It will be in particular equipped with an operating theater. “I am the owner, but not a veterinarian, so I am leasing the clinic to a college of vets that I am in the process of setting up,” he informs.

As a follow-up to this possible treatment, an active rehabilitation center will be set up. The horses will find a swimming pool there, water walkerscryotherapy, a cooling spa as well as all the medical care: nutritionist, physiotherapist, podiatrist, dentist, acupuncturist, farriers…

“We are going to do a longitudinal follow-up, which does not exist anywhere else. »

An outdoor carousel and an indoor carousel will also be created.

Then, thanks to a team of jockeys, the horse can start working again. For training, the center has 11 km of slopes between the round l’Épine and the round Tessé. “The access to the tracks is 20 meters from the training center so they won’t have to cross the park and be on the asphalt. »

An accommodation center will also be built with a capacity of 75 stalls. Staff accommodation is also taken into account with 9 accommodations. “It’s important because housing staff nearby in the Paris region is a great difficulty. »

Finally, rest has not been forgotten. “We are lucky to have 15 ha of pasture 10 km from the Place de l’Etoile, a benchmark for foreigners. »

For this immense installation, Frédéric Hinderzé invested no less than €12m.

Unique in the world

“There is no identical installation in the world,” says Frédéric Hinderzé. The one who has visited many countries points out that all the services that the center will offer exist individually but have never been brought together. in one place.

I went to all the medical or equine training centers on the 5 continents, in California, in Qatar, in Hong-Kong, in England… I saw exciting things which I put together on this project .

Frederic Hinderze, patron of the International Center for Equine Rehabilitation.

He continues on the scale of the project: “I am in contact with professionals in Sweden and Germany who are looking forward to this center because currently they have to take their horses to San Diego and that is very expensive in addition to the risks of the trip. »

The target customers are exclusively flat and jumping racehorses, stallions among the most world high level.

Before the Paris Games

For the end of the work, the date is set for June 2024, at least for the medical part. “The goal is to be available if there are any incidents at Versailles during the Olympic Games and at the same time to show the many people of the world the horses that will come. We are right on the road between Roissy and Versailles. »

A passion project

“That’s what I like to do. It’s a passion. I don’t pretend to be a good rider but I hope to be in the future a good horseman. I want to bring him what will allow him to live better and also to perform,” he concludes, slightly moved by the idea of seeing this project come to fruition.
