Some people run for fun, others to challenge themselves or to win the marathon. No matter what type of runner you are, one of the most important elements is the shoe. It gives you the support and balance you need and ensures your comfort during the countless miles you will travel with it. That’s why you have to choose carefully. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner and you don’t know which pair to choose. I went through this 3 years ago when I participated in my first marathon in the forest. Now that I have more experience, I can share with you the best shoes for a half or a marathon in 2023. The list is based on extensive research with experts. So let’s run!
Which pair of running shoes for a marathon?

Most people wonder what are the best running shoes or what is the best brand of running shoes, but the truth is not so universal. This is a personal choice that everyone must make depending on the morphology of their feet: wide, narrow, arches or flat feet.

If you have a normal arch, You’re in luck. In this case, specialists advise opting for stability shoes. They feature additional lateral arch support and high-density foam, which provides stability in the rearfoot and flexibility in the forefoot.
If, like me, you have flat feet, look for shoes with a well-padded arch. You also need underfoot support and a solid heel. This keeps the foot in place while running.
If you have some high arches, it is preferable to wear well-padded and slightly supportive shoes. Stability shoes are not necessary, as high arches mean the foot is less flexible. In this case, you need less support. However, you will need good cushioning.
What shoes for a marathon in 2, 3 or 4 hours?
A bad shoe can cause you a lot of problems, so if you train for short distances, but intend to participate in a full marathon, you need two types of shoes: for 1-2 hours and for 3 to 4 hours. In the second case, you need more support.
