  4. I guess we can leave out the potato, for people who are avoiding them. Is there something that I’d need to use to replace what it does in the sauce?

    1. +JE Hoyes Oh dear. Get them to read this:  As for a substitute, you could try some cooked cauliflower or some white beans.

    2. +CookingWithPlants It’s not for me, I love spuds. It’s for a relative who is avoiding certain foods that she’s read will inflame her arthritis. She won’t eat tomatoes because of it too 🙁

    1. It is usually around the peanut butter section or in the health food section. It is just ground up sesame paste 🙂 Or try online.

    1. You can just leave it out if you like. It does add a cheesy type of creaminess to it though.

  11. I’d love to see a vegan, gluten-free dish like stuffed cabbage, but that might take too long for the show. Maybe a casserole of shredded cabbage with vegetables, beans, rice and maybe tempeh. I love all of your recipes!

  12. I have been vegan for two years, i weigh 220 lbs , my weight should be in the 160 to 170 range. My fat percentage is a crushing 31%. I have been eating alot of oil, and calories. My morning meal usually has around 1000 calories. THis week I have started to eat the way Dr. McDougall says to eat and I am limiting my fat intake to no more than 10% of my calories with starches being the bulk of my calories and no oil. I made your mashed potatoes today and enjoyed them. I will be making this dish as well, it looks like a great leaping off dish, it looks like you could layer it with spinach or eggplants or tomatoes , like a lasagna.

  20. I made this potato bake and although it looks creamy it is more like a potato soup and tastes nothing like alfredo sauce. I also followed the recipe and found there was way too much sauce and too many potatoes. You really need to tweek the measurements for this recipe.
