  1. Hi from Durban South Africa 🇿🇦. Wow! 😱 This looks insanely good! Thank you for sharing! We absolutely love Indian cooking, esp your Mauritian take on it! We’ve tried your vegetable pancakes and they are a staple in our home 😃. Will definitely be making this tomorrow 😊. We have one request though…we’ve recently become vegan and have seen Dr Gregor’s videos and other plant based doctors’s videos about how bad oil is for ones health. Please please would you consider making some recipes without oil or substitutes for the oil? Thanks again!

    1. +Coléne Watson We have a few oil-free recipes on the channel. From time to time we do post some oil-free recipes. For this one, you can easily use water to saute the vegetables. You won’t get the tofu to be as crispy but it will still be delicious.

  5. Chef Kevin! Wonderful recipe; flavoring and thickening the broth with chickpea flour is ingenious. Perhaps this is the traditional Mauritian method, though? Wish I had the ingredients to make it today, but I don’t, so I will make it later this week. Thanks so much for posting : )

    1. Yes Chef Kevin (and lucky me!) :D. Sorry for the late reply tamcon. The chickpea flour is not particular a Mauritian method of thickening the sauce. It’s just something that I do. I find that the chickpea flour also adds another layer of flavour to the broth (as compared to using all-purpose flour). I hope you are doing well by the way. Thank you for your comment. 🙂 ❤️

  8. I am making this sometime this week! Can’t wait!! Wow,you make vegan dishes look so easy to prep. Clearly something I am struggling with.

    1. Hey Veronica, it is very easy. The first few times — particularly if you are not used to cooking — might seem a bit daunting, but after a while it feels quite natural. It just takes a little bit of patience and effort in the beginning. Don’t get discouraged. Do it because it makes you happy and the rest will follow. Thank you for the nice comment. ❤️

  10. This looks absolutely delicious and nutritious *i’d probably not add so much oil for everything but besides that, this noodle bowl is better than what you most Asian restaurants have <3

  12. A visually stunning dish that looks as if it’s bursting with flavor and texture. Thanks for the recipe and video.

  13. That was AMAZING! It looks so rich and comforting <3 I will definitely use the coconut oil as I'm sure it not only lends to the body of the soup but the flavour as well - and I think the secret is out that coconut oil (as well as any plant-based fat) is in fact a healthy ingredient 🙂 Thank you! Subscribed 🙂

  14. made this sans dumplings tonight. Surprisingly easy and amazing result. Preparing the tofu using your method yielded a delightful “meaty” texture when combined with the fatty broth.

  15. New subscriber here. All I have to say is wow!!! I’m very impressed. Just started my vegan diet and I’m trying to find decent recipes. Most of the people on YouTube do not know how to cook. Will have to try your wonderful dishes!!

  16. I made this tonight and when i added my noodles (homemade as per your ramen recipe) to the broth, they turned red! It was so strange. Have I poisoned myself?
