  1. I get severely anemic with very low blood platelet count, heavy painful periods and crazy under eye bags and dark circles being vegan. I do not absorb any of the non heme iron at all and have issues absorbing plant protein as well ( even with vitamin C foods at every single meal). I lost a ton of muscle and facial collagen and put on celluliye and fat( eating a clean WFPB diet). I guess not everybody has the priviledge to be able to live that way…I did a vegetarian trial years ago eating eggs and dairy at every meal and was still anemic and low platelet but didnt have the other issues….I think low absorbtion is due to either genetics ( I am European Mediterranean and our original diet is very meat heavy with barely any fruit and little veggies) or to damaged gut microbiome ( I do suffer from IBS) It made me very frustrated and sad to fail every time I tried to go on the plant based direction but I have to open my eyes and come to the conclusion that unfortunately this is not something that everybody can achieve

By the way, I am RH negative blood like many European Mediterranean people which means I have a deletion in my blood that lacks the D protein which is supposed to bring oxygen to the red blood cells…so with less oxygen, there is more need for iron. Rh negative is very rare in the world…I would be curious to know if there is any successful rh negative vegans here? (complete deletion from both my parents)

  2. Tenat mnie interesuje bo chce przejsc na veganizm ale to jak mowisz jest okropne, nie wytrzymam chyba do konca

  3. Yes! My bloating lasted a good week when I first started. I was confused because I thought I was gaining weight but I continued and boom, bloating gone. I’m still learning which vegan foods cause more bloating vs others for me but I literally have no missed meat at all!

  4. No vegan is really vegan. Smartphones, computers, radios and everything that has copper is not vegan. Even your vegan “meat” and cheese is not vegan because the machines that made it have animal products in them.

    1. Veganism isn’t about perfection, we live in a non vegan world so perfection isn’t the goal. For me it’s just about avoiding animal products whenever practical and practicable. Basically do as little harm as possible. That’s all ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. I feel you! I was the only vegan in my home when I first made the switch so I know it’s not easy! The way we did it was we wold make vegan sides, like veggies and rice, etc and then I wold have a vegan protein and they would have animal. That way we could all have a normal dinner together and I had vegan options ๐Ÿ˜Š Hope that helps!

  5. You just helped me.. The part.. being gentle with your body.. like you said with the Apple. I also force myself to eat it, maybe I also just don’t like it raw like that.. This is really an insight for me. Thank you

    1. Hey! Thanks for letting me know that this tip was helpful for you. I remind myself of this all the time too! Glad it resonated with you ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š

  6. Great message ty loved it. Every single day me make a choice it does affect me and my family in some way if I choose to buy junk for my family itโ€™s a choice to hurt them not help so ty for putting this out there.

  7. I’ve been vegan for the last 6 months and another BIG change i notice was in my mood. I feel way more in peace, less irritable.

  8. It is more practical and sustainable to eat a balanced diet between veg and non veg. We cant deny that our body needs animal proteins so its better to eat less meat/pork for a happy and healthy life.

  9. Nature did not lay for us to eat only plant based but also a small proportion of meat our ancestors provide the proof of that. Factory farms treat animal bad and should be banned not the animal farming.

  10. The worst thing is not being able to help the poor animals going to the slaughter houses. Which is why I chose to go on a plant based diet as every day on the way to work I saw a slaughter truck and felt horrified that I couldn’t help them or stop the truck and set them free and that I was eating them. That is the main thing that made me go for a plant based diet – best thing I ever did. But I feel like I need to do more to help them and rescue them, do you know what I mean?

  11. I’m in my late 50’s and new to the vegan world. My choice is for ethical and health choices. Finding channels like yours has helped me so much on how to navigate this journey. I can’t tell you how much you are helping us. This was well said without the tribalism that sometimes accompany those on this path. Hugs from Toronto.

  12. Iโ€™m a mom, probably 3 times your age, who has been a vegan for 11 years. And seeing young people like you gives me so much hope. Thank you so much for being so wise and knowledgeable at such a young age. I wish I had been a vegan my whole life.

  13. I definitely hear your passion about the animals and their suffering…also the fact meat is damaging to us and can make us sick, in many ways. I am a Christian and wonder about our daily bread, Jesus caught fish for a meal with the Diciples. In the desert where Moses and millions wandered for 40 years, God fed them all with manna and quail. Many sheep and goats and calves were sacrificed regularly; offered in the temple for their sins (not necessary when Jesus suffered died rose again and lives at the Father’s side in Heaven.) Jesus blood was the perfect sacrifice for OUR sins. John 3:16. God created us, the universe all the food and inhabitants. Everyone on earth will die. My point I guess is God’s heart over all this. I know he grieves over the 60 million babies who have been and continue to be aborted. Not sure about the animals. A day will come when the Lion and the lamb will lie down together, demonstrating peace. This brings me to Heaven and hell. Our choice is embracing Jesus as Lord and Saviour and accept forgiveness for sins to live for him, now and throughout eternity. We only have time here on earth to make that decision. This is not about religion, it’s about a relationship with God. The next consequence is Hell. If Jesus is not embraced while we are here on earth, then Hell is waiting for us. God is full of love for all the peoples. But, he is sovereign, Devine without sin….and cannot look upon sin
Jesus is ever interceding for us
He died for our past, present and future sin, for us to be part of the Kingdom of God. The Bible is the only book ever written where the Author is always present. The most incredible book ever written. โš˜๐Ÿ’•โš˜๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’’๐Ÿ˜‡ ๐Ÿค—

  14. Iโ€™m transitioning to veganism and was wondering what to eat when I want a snack? I am missing being able to go to the cupboard and grabbing some chips or cake or a biscuit, so convenient, quick and easy.

    1. There are tons of vegan chips and cracks and cookies โ˜บ๏ธ what country do you live in? Iโ€™ll find some vegan friendly brands you might like

    2. @NikkiVegan wow, thank you. Iโ€™m in Australia, near Melbourne. I miss chocolate too! Iโ€™m wanting to eventually do the whole foods plant based diet but Iโ€™m struggling. I have such intense cravings for chocolate and snacks! I canโ€™t believe it!

  15. I just jumped on vegetarianism one day and on my way to vegan! Iโ€™m so proud of myself, I wish more people come join us.

  16. Once you have your microbiome correct, gas isn’t much of an issue. The good news is that if you eat a lot of different types of plants & some vegan yogurt your microbiome will get healthy in a week or two.

  17. I’ve got IBS and I’m forever bloated I’ve always eaten mostly vegetables but have a huge cheese and sour cream addiction. After every meal I’d feel so horribly full. I’ve been vegan for almost 2 weeks no cheese or eggs for my own sake and I get full but the bloating goes away fast. I always have a BM when back then I’d have to take teas or laxatives. I’m happy.

  18. Thank you Nikki for all of this information… you have opened my eyes even more regarding the meet and dairy industry. I am in my late 50โ€™s I wish I had known this info 20, 30 years ago.. I would of saved myself a lot of unnecessary medical issues… never too late, right? I went vegan 4 months ago for health reasons, and I am reaping all of the benefits. Keep sharing, and take care

  19. I think the first time I heard about veganism it was a punchline and I didnโ€™t give it much thought. At 15 someone prompted me into doing a bit of research and my mind was made up very quickly. I feel more comfortable now that I donโ€™t have to block out thoughts of what Iโ€™m eating. The only problem now is that I canโ€™t close my eyes again and there is so much more harm caused by various industries. Giving up animal products was easy. Itโ€™s dealing with other peopleโ€™s reactions and watching everyone shop without thinking of the consequences thatโ€™s difficult.

  20. You explained #3 VERY well. Put the topic of animal suffering caused by humans in perfect words.

  21. Thia is why the vast majority quit the diet.. Your gut microbiology gets out of wack after a few months.

    1. I’ve been vegan for almost 6 years now. This is an old video and I have a lot of new updated videos if you’d like to take a look ๐Ÿ˜Š The majority of my GI issues at this time were due to stress, lack of sleep, and too much alcohol. I agree that there’s a healthy way to eat a vegan diet and a less healthy way but a whole food plant based diet actually helps to diversify the microbiome and keep the gut healthy. But of course lifestyle and stress management is part of it too ๐Ÿ’›

    2. @NikkiVegan You are what you eat.. Video after video of vegans quitting the diet blame their gut issues on everything but their diet. Stress, genetics, etc. It’s Tribal, like a crazy religion or something.

  22. I am just cleaning out the pantry and frig to load up on fresh fruits and veggies. I’m tired of the bloating, the brain fog, and many other things that don’t make me feel well. Here I go on a new adventure. Thank you Nikki

  23. I am not vegan nor am i vegetarian but i absolutely enjoyed the way you explained everything and it was not judgmental at all. Thank you!

  24. The Chinese believe that the spleen is key to digestion. I studied it out a bit , purchased a Chinese supplement for my husband and I, it has help tremendously with belching, gas and indigestion:)

  25. THANK YOU!!! Today is my first day eating vegan and I felt like humpty dumpty alllll day!!! My pants were a struggle to button by the end of the day and I almost quit…

  26. I 100% agree with everything you said in this episode. I think itโ€™s so important to spread the word about veganism and help open up peopleโ€™s eyes about the animal agriculture and help save these poor helpless animals. Thank you, Nikki for all that you do ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ.

  27. I didn’t expect the gas! I didn’t expect my family to be onboard (and they are) I didn’t expect to feel better so quickly!

  28. I wish I have more vegan friends๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜
Your speaking my mind. I agree with you completely. Totally!!

    1. I know, making vegan friends can be hard! When I first went vegan I went on MeetUp to find vegan events in my area. There were some outdoor picnics and beach potlucks and I went to a few of those. It was nice to meet some like-minded people. Facebook may have something similar to see if there are any events in your area. I hope that helps. Sending you a lot of love โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

  29. Keep being great!! I love it- thank you for speaking out! Keep promoting this and all the love and light. I had to subscribe, because I need more vegan people around me. I know no other vegans!! Thank you for being you ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. I would love to do a vegan video with you some time! Oh my goodness. I love your knowledge, you really kept me interested the whole video. You talk to the camera so well, you are so smart and you can tell this is your lifestyle. I love this!!!!

  31. You are amazing! I love how much you care for the animals, that’s why I went vegan too. I had been trying to go vegan for years and never did until I heard about what happens to the animals and it made me sick to think it was because of me. I also saw how much feeling these animals have and I could not eat them anymore, I also convinced my husband to go vegan too ๐Ÿ™‚
